Job description: I am currently recruiting for a Support Worker based it Wiltshire. This is a 15 hour a week post working 2 days a week.

You MUST have an Enhanced DBS for this position.

The role will be working in a young persons' project supporting 28 young people aged 16-21 to acquire independent living skills, benefits in key working sessions.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, highly motivated with excellent communication skills and have at least 2 years' experience working within a Housing Options / Homeless Prevention / Homelessness Assessment / Resettlement Service.

The assignment will involve; taking referrals and carrying out needs assessments of prospective clients, liaising with health professionals, providing housing related support, offering benefits advise and taking measures to prevent homelessness. The candidate may be meeting clients in their homes, in town or in drop in clinics and ensure that prospective and current clients are fully aware of the support available, their financial obligations, rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/occupation arrangements and all related procedures.

* Knowledge and experience of Housing
* Knowledge of Employment and support allowance (ESA) and eligibility for personal independence payment (PIP)
* Experience in working in Housing Options / Homeless Prevention / Homelessness Assessment / Resettlement Service/Care
* Experience of dealing with challenging behaviours
* Experience of working on housing benefits, independent living, budgeting support and tenancy.
* Support young adults (age between 16 - 25)
* Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
* Enhanced DBS
* Strong Communication Skills
