Job description: Housing Team Manager (Extra Care) - Sevenoaks
A housing association based in West Kent are recruiting for a Housing Team Manager to enhance the lives of older people by delivering quality accommodation services for older people, in one of their Extra Care Housing Schemes in Sevenoaks.

The Role
The focus of the role is managing or advising on housing management issues such as tenancy matters, voids, arrears, incidents, ASB, complaints etc. You will also liaise with the onsite care teams and catering teams. You will work with the Extra Care Service Managers to deliver on projects that drive forward the strategy of improving Older People's lives, including dementia, resident involvement, social inclusion and our wider accommodation strategy. This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*Leading your scheme staff to deliver on the contractual requirements of the support and management contracts across Emerald Homes.
*Collaborate with colleagues to promote West Kent's culture of promoting tenant ownership and responsibility to create sustainable tenancies and places where people want to live.
*Help customers to understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.
*Manage, motivate and develop your team to deliver consistently outstanding performance where customers receive a genuine and positive experience.
*Provide cover for Scheme managers throughout Kent where necessary
*Continuously improve the service and financial performance of the Extra Care Homes through monitoring and reporting against performance measures.
*Maximise positive outcomes in the management of empty homes, arrears and community safety through collaboration with West Kent colleagues.

The Candidate
To be considered for this vacancy, you will require previous housing or scheme management experience, ideally within extra care or focussed on older people. Additionally, the following experience will also be required:
*Good understanding of housing management, and the issues, processes and best practice in relation to managing Extra Care services
*Awareness of contract management and experience of operating within a contracting environment
*Proven ability to manage and motivate a staff team in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, particularly through times of change
*Proven communication, interpersonal and written skills adaptable to all audiences including the ability to write reports for senior managers
*Proficiency in Microsoft packages including Excel. Confident in learning and maximising the use of in-house bespoke systems
*Experience of setting up new services
*Ability to analyse and report on data to support performance management and policy making across Extra Care
As you will be working with vulnerable service users, you will also require a DBS to be processed. If you have an existing, clean DBS on the Update Service, this will be beneficial to your application.

The Contract
This is a full time role, on an initial 12 week contract. Your work will be based primarily in Sevenoaks though some home working is available. You will work 37 hours per week on average with a start time of 0845. When covering for scheme Managers the start time will be 0800 in the scheme. These schemes are based throughout Kent.
