HR PROJECT MANAGER

Support the delivery of the HR business plan and the HR transformation project(s) to time, cost, and quality Standards, ensuring expert project management, in order to deliver efficiently and effectively.

The individual will drive forward and deliver specific HR projects or work streams in the wider organisation which HR play an SME role including:

  • All aspects of project management reporting
  • Management of MI relating to project registers and plans
  • Management of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
  • Setting and tracking benefits
  • Managing project budgets.
  • Projects will be managed to a project framework methodology

Key responsibilities

  • Champion and implement effective project delivery, including:
  • Support communication and engagement with project stakeholders, developing and maintaining key relationships and working in partnership to resolve problems to benefit operational policing and the MPS.
  • Work with HR and local project / change teams to ensure consistency of project delivery
    approach.
  • Provide direction and leadership for the project delivery team in scope of the role
  • Support the building and sustaining of capacity and capability within the project team to
    deliver the programme
  • Deputise for the project manager where needed as the key point of contact for the project
  • Deliver project outcomes and benefits
  • Support the project manager to manage the project, including set-up, management and
    delivery, ensuring that the project outputs are delivered to time, cost and quality and meets all agreed project management processes, standards and reporting requirements.

Develops and maintains relationships with:

  • Leaders in HR and within their project to provide concise information and deliver results; this will include reports on project or work stream activity
  • Relevant enabling functions related to their specialism, which may include digital policing, finance,OCUs, BCUs, to problem-solve, to problem-solve, integrate and collaborate to the benefit of operational policing and the wider MPS
  • HR Transformation Portfolio & Digital Lead, HR Project Executives, Project Leads and Project Managers to support them in building the capability and capacity of project delivery and its credibility in thewider MPS
  • This role works closely day-to-day with their peers within their project, team and overall portfolio where there is a need for integrated and collaborative working, to problem solve to the benefit of operational policing and the wider MPS

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in relevant field is desirable such as PRINCE2, P30 or MSP.
  • Professional and/or graduate qualifications in business management or similar field desirable.

Experience

  • Experience of working on complex projects
  • Experience of working in a large and complex organisation
  • Experience of working in a complex PMO or Portfolio Office.
  • Experience of influencing, negotiating with, and providing challenge to management-level stakeholders.
  • Experience of contributing to a collaborative team culture and an environment of continuous learning
  • Experience of working at pace with uncertainty.
