Job description: Role: IT Project Manager
Location: Chatham, Me4 4TR
Work pattern: 35 hrs, Mon-Fri, 09:00- 17:00 with some flexibility outside these hours when required
Contract: 18 months fixed term contract
I'm currently looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join a busy Housing department. This company manages approximately 3000 homes and have come together to procure and implement a new Housing Management System that will serve the future needs of the service. As Project Manager you'll lead the project team and have responsibility to act as key advisor to our project board. You'll manage all aspects of each project, from establishing the requirements and managing team members, to overseeing and communicating progress and resolving problems. You'll collaborate closely with suppliers, colleagues and end-users, making sure that the end result is fully tested and delivered on time and on budget. You'll be an experienced project manager with a strong track record in delivering business-critical technology projects.

Key Responsibilities:
*To manage the implementation of a replacement Housing Management System, from project inception through to project completion and review.
*To negotiate and communicate with relevant service area stakeholders to ensure that necessary people resources/skills are available to meet project timescales and resource requirements
*To manage the work and priorities of the project team throughout the lifecycle of the project, defining appropriate products, standards, and timescales to ensure that the project delivers implementation on time and within budget.
*To act as key adviser to the project board, resolving issues and recommending corrective action as appropriate so that projects are sustained and implemented, risks are identified, mitigated and managed whilst ensuring compliance with the agreed decision making process/project governance arrangements

Qualifications
*A relevant academic, professional or management qualification.
*A relevant project management qualification is essential
Knowledge
*High-level knowledge of project management methodologies.
*An excellent understanding of the value and use of new technologies in improving services and modernising working process.
*Significant knowledge of complex ICT system interfaces and impact
*A good understanding of the financial and procurement principles within the public sector.
*A good understanding of ITIL and how this can be effective in an ICT environment
Experience
*Demonstrable experience in the management of small to medium projects within a technical environment.
*Demonstrable experience of delivering projects to agreed time and budget limits
* Demonstrable experience in a customer-focussed organisation, with an emphasis on customer service
*Demonstrable experience of dealing with suppliers and contracts
*Demonstrable experience of working within an ICT environment within a medium to large organisation, with an excellent understanding of all elements of the ICT service
