Job description: Service Care Solutions are seeking to recruit an ICT Technical Analyst to work for a Force based in Penrith.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance, configuration, implementation and support of hardware and software used by the Force.

The role is technology focused and therefore knowledge is required in Core Operating systems such as Microsoft, Unix and Lynx, Database Management Systems such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL, Network and communication Systems such as CISCO and Avaya and storage solutions such as storage area networks, Network Attached Storage and Backup solutions.

It is necessary to have a full clean driving license, as some travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
-To design, configure, test, document, evaluate and pilot new systems and software, as required to meet ongoing requirements and expected benefits to the Force.
-Analyse, design and configure existing systems so that they are efficient and manageable, ensuring uniformity and security across the Force.
-Develop system measurements and system automation programs and procedures in order to monitor capacity and performance and forecast any changes required.
-Plan, monitor and be responsible for ICT projects within the strategic programme. Ensuring the ICT department is represented early in project lifecycles by actively engaging with Programme representatives and Customers.
-As required, to liaise with external hardware engineers and software support personnel to maximise efficiency. Communicating with suppliers, both to resolve complex issues and to keep abreast of developments in specific technology areas.
-To set up, maintain and monitor all procedures to ensure security and recovery of data and technical configuration.
-To provide specialist technical support to 1st Line Support, responding and resolving complex
issues concerning incidents, problems and system availability and decide upon the correct
course of action to ensure minimal impact on availability of systems.

Please note, as this is a role with the Police, the successful candidate will be subject to vetting, therefore will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
