Job description: Income Management Team Leader, Loughborough
A local authority in Loughborough are recruiting for an Income Team Leader to manage the Housing Income Team and manage the collection of rent in relation to the councils housing stock which includes shops, garages, service charges and former tenant arrears.

The Role
The focus of this role is to lead the Income Team to protect income streams, prevent rent arrears and maximise income for the Council, and develop the income management service in pursuit of upper quartile performance.
Your responsibilities within this role will include:
*The line management of 9 staff; 5 x Income Officer, 2 x Financial Inclusion Officer, 1 x Former Tenant Arrears Officer, 1 x Universal Credit Officer
*Support the Principal Officer for Tenancy and Income Management in the development, review, and delivery of the tenancy sustainment strategy and related policies and procedures.
*Lead and manage the income management team to deliver a high quality income management service.
*Review data, identify risks, opportunities, and good practice to develop systems, processes, and initiatives to maximise income for the Council and deliver service improvements.
*To assist the business support team leader and principal officer for tenancy and income management to develop performance management frameworks, monitor performance, and where appropriate intervene to ensure that that performance remains on track and that agreed targets are reached.
*Ensure that tenants, leaseholders and customers are at the heart of all services and that all staff demonstrate a commitment to resident involvement.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
*Proven experience of leading, motivating and managing a high performing team.
*Experience in the delivery and development of a high quality income management service.
*Experience of developing a performance management culture in a customer-focused service organisation.
*Proven experience of handling difficult customers and situations in a compassionate and sensitive manner.
*Knowledge of relevant housing law and court procedures.
*Knowledge of current issues in housing, including those surrounding financial inclusion.
*Ability to make and implement difficult decisions, solve problems and deliver service improvements using own initiative and creativity.
*Ability to analyse complex data, present information and make recommendations effectively (including through the use of IT packages).

The Contract
This is a full time role on an initial 1 month contract, though is likely to be extended or become permanent as it is replacing a permanent leaver.
