Job description: Income Recovery Officer, Oxford
A Oxfordshire based Council are recruiting for an Income Recovery Officer in Oxford. This role will be focused on pre-claim debt recovery contacts and the actions/protocols that follow. Issuing & enforcing claims via courts and offering advice to departments on court recovery options.

The Role
Your key duties within the role will include the following:
Advice
*Advice to departments on corporately agreed processes for the recovery of debts
*Advice to departments on aspects of the recovery of civil debts that are potentially or actually due
Debtor Case Review
*Initial review and assessment of cases following standard recovery/dunning prior to formal proceedings
*Issuing LBCs and completing recommendations for authorisation of legal proceedings for the purposes of debt recovery.
*Preparation of cases and completing court applications in line with CPR
Court Attendance
*Representing the Council in legal proceedings in Court (small claims) as required
IT System
*Day-to-day supervision of the debt recovery IT system ensuring all necessary updates are recorded
*Process entries in debtor case management & finance systems as required
Administration
*Day-to-day management of debt recovery work including diary management, case prioritisation and work supervision
*Operating the debt recovery system in full compliance with council procedures

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must Minimum of 5 years Credit Control/ or other equivalent experience. Experience of civil litigation and recovery of small claims including drafting particulars of claim and advocacy in small claims court. Experience of using debtor case managements software
The Contract
This is a contact starting ASAP up to 26th July 2019, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
