Job description: We are recruiting for a Child Protection Conference Chair to work with the London Borough of Barking And Dagenham.

We are looking for an experienced IRO to chair Child Protection Conferences, leading decision making and developing Child Protection Plans with the child's voice clearly evident. You will monitor the progress of Child Protection Plans bi-monthly between conferences, ensuring quality assurance oversight and challenging any shortfalls in practice or resources.

In order to be considered for this position you will be a Qualified Social Worker with at least 5 years PQ experience including in Child Protection and Care Planning. You will need to have extensive knowledge of the service area, partner relationships and wide sector/external influences. In addition to this extensive experience of chairing and managing meetings with professionals is essential.

Knowledge and Qualifications:
*Degree level social work qualification
*Evidence of current registration with HCPC
*Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
*Substantial post-qualifying experience including statutory work with children and their families.
*An in-depth knowledge of the delivery of services to children and their families and the current issues and legislation affecting them.
*Substantial experience as a Team Manager or equivalent with evidence of managing complex child protection issues and driving good practice.
*Track record of achievement at a management level in a similarly large and complex organisation including:
*Working in a range of roles across CYP
*Developing outcome focussed multi-agency plans to meeting individual children's needs
*Effectively providing support and challenge to team managers, social workers and partner agencies in delivering outcome focused interventions, plans and services
*Ensuring that the statutory duties of staff are understood and exceeded
*Experience of quality assurance including completing high quality audits and using these to drive practice improvement
