Job description: Service Care Solutions are looking for a Information Security Officer to work on a full-time fixed-term contract with Warwickshire & West Mercia Police.

To support the maintenance of the Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police Information Security Incident Register, investigation of reported incidents and if required make recommendations on corrective measures to prevent a re-occurrence.

Main Responsibilities:

To support the Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police Information Security programme to enable accreditation and compliance with wider mandatory information security requirements and national reporting standards.

To support the review and production of policies and best practice for the ongoing management and maintenance of information security management.

To implement processes and techniques used in verifying compliance against security policies, standards, legal and regulatory requirements.

To identify and manage the different forms of threat to and vulnerabilities of information systems and assets.

To conduct inspection, survey and information security audit and compliance activity to ensure the physical and data security protection of all information systems and information assets and compliance with information security regulations, standards, policies, and information risk management.

To assist in the compilation and development of Risk Management and Accreditation Document Sets (RMADS) ensuring that Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police IT systems are accredited and subject to accreditation review.

Co-ordinate investigative and reporting action of all actual and suspected incidents of security significance.

To prepare and deliver general information security training, education, and awareness in relation to information security, information assurance and information risks.

To actively engage all key stakeholders, including partner agencies and third party suppliers, sharing, storing or processing information owned by Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police in the application of information security best practice and HMG standards, ensuring compliance with Home Office legislation and statutory guidance.

To maintain awareness and up to date knowledge of all current relevant information security management legislation, methods and practices ensuring that an environment of continuous improvement, innovation and emerging best practice are evaluated.

Represent professionally and promote the reputation of Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police at meetings and groups both internally and externally, including the development of appropriate and constructive partnerships with relevant organisations.

To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required


Special Conditions:

Regular travel throughout Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police.

Requirement to maintain professional accreditation on an annual basis.

All successful applicants will be subject to NPPV (Non Police Personal Vetting) checks before employment can commence.
