Infrastructure Support Analyst - Norfolk

Job description: My client, a local authority, is currently looking for an Infrastructure Support Analyst to work on an initial 3 month contract in Norfolk.

Purpose of the role:

* To join the current server infrastructure team managing the configuration, capacity, security and availability of all the authority's server based IT services (e.g. Active Directory, File & Print, E-mail, VMWare, SAN, Remote Access, Internet, Intranet, Web Filters, VoIP, gateways and application servers) to ensure that they operate reliably, securely, efficiently and meet the requirements of the Service Level agreements.
* The additional resource to back-fill the current engineers so that they can implement new systems that are required.

Knowledge:

* To have held technical responsibility for supporting a multiple server environment within an enterprise level environment across a WAN
* Extensive experience of supporting servers in an Active Directory environment
* Extensive experience of administration of Windows servers, Solaris Unix servers, SAN and virtual environments
* Experience of administrating SCCM, Direct Access, Oracle DBMS, Exchange, Clearswift, Sophos Endpoint, Blackberry UEM.
* Good comprehension of security

* Excellent interpersonal skills and substantial experience of client/user contact in a variety of situations
* Committed team member with an ability to work to joint goals and standards
* Able to prioritise workloads effectively
* Good overall knowledge of IT concepts and practice, current technologies and trends.
* Ability to be flexible and prepared to exercise initiative in the execution of their duties
* Ability to analyse issues and problems logically
* Ability to work to challenging deadlines
* Ability to independently produce clear documentation for policies and procedures
* Independently find solutions to problems, using theoretical know-how and experience, especially in situations requiring a significant degree of technical judgment.
* Provide advice and guidance for senior managers in IT and the business
* Able to work well under pressure and prioritise own work
* Able to analyse complex issues and identify possible solutions based on a sound analysis of the information available.
* Gives careful attention to detail and thoroughly checks work for accuracy and quality standards
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to communicate and work effectively with external technical consultants

* Ability to demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people's behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs


Education and Qualifications Desirable:

* 5+ years Server experience and qualification
* University Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience
* ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Foundation Certificate
* Formal Server training and qualification
