Job description: Service Care Solutions are looking for a Intelligence / Investigation Officer to work on a major contract in collaboration with the National Crime Agency in London.

To plan, co-ordinate and conduct investigations into suspected cartel activity in collaboration with Assistant Director Investigators, Principal Investigation Officers and Senior Investigation Officers. To assist, where appropriate, with applications to the High Court for search warrants. To assist with on-site investigations using formal powers. To comply with statutory duties and procedural requirements in all investigatory activity. To analyse, assess and present to the team leaders, the evidence gathered in the course of an investigation identifying whether it is sufficient to proceed and to assist the team leader, as appropriate, in drafting appropriate documentation. Other tasks may be required to be undertaken from time to time commensurate with a investigator post.

Duties:

Carry out all-source data exploitation, analysis, delivery and dissemination of Intelligence product relating to serious and organised crime, in support of operational, tactical and strategic objectives, through interaction with other NCA departments and teams, and also with external partners.

Support analytic teams with the tasking of Intelligence assets and collection of information.

The Project: Voice Analytics (VA) system will allow the creation of a library of voice prints.

Carry out research and/or gather intelligence in support of operational, tactical and strategic objectives, deploying on operations as appropriate;

Interact with customers and providers of intelligence through verbal and written dissemination or briefings, ensuring thorough understanding of intelligence requirements and effective communication of these to analytic teams and/or other stakeholders;

Proactively identify and exploit potential intelligence sources, in collaboration with specialist teams where necessary;

Request, support or coordinate the tasking of intelligence assets;

Carry out the gathering, handling, storage, utilisation and dissemination of intelligence in support of operational objectives, including exploitation of live intelligence sources and fusion with other data and analytical products, in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures;

Draft and submit applications, as required, to carry out covert and other activity for the purpose of intelligence gathering;

Produce and disseminate appropriate and relevant intelligence and analytical outputs e.g. products for evidential or intelligence purposes or to inform operational, tactical or strategic decision making;


Knowledge:
. Understanding of the use of intelligence and evidence by law enforcement agencies;
. Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. CPIA, IPA) and its impact on the role and Agency activity;
. Knowledge of intelligence collection methods and techniques;
. Good understanding of information management and data integrity issues.

This is a high security position, so candidates must have worked directly for a UK based police force or as part of a high security network in order to be considered.
