Job description: Job Title: IT Programme Manager

Hours: 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week)

Start date: ASAP

Location: NHS Priestley Wharf

*Working on a number of projects within the Infrastructure Programme & Telecoms Teams
*Additional skills/knowledge required in telephony solutions, IP telephony platforms and configuration

Job Purpose

The post holder will lead and manage a complex project to ensure that the business benefits are realised. This includes:

*planning the project and its component parts;
*managing inter-dependencies between different project strands;
*managing the project team;
*identifying and managing risks;
*ensuring the project stays on track and delivers on time;
*facilitating delivery of the project;
*building, sustaining and facilitating relationships with project stakeholders;
*managing communications regarding the project;
*securing resources for the project through advocacy at senior management level; and,
forming the main point of contact for the project

Main Duties

1.To support the overall programme of work to achieve the successful implementation of both short and long term and both local and national IT projects throughout the organisation.

2.To take responsibility for ensuring that all projects are run to PRINCE2 standards and that an auditable trail exists throughout the life of the project.

3.To negotiate with clinical and management colleagues a practical plan regarding project deliverables as required to achieve the strategy.

4.To monitor the progress of each work-stream against the agreed project plan, and intervene at any point where there is a risk of delay, resource overuse or unacceptable quality.

5.To identify conflicting priorities and propose appropriate action to deliver the overall programme of work.

6.To negotiate with, liaise with, co-ordinate and monitor the activities of suppliers as appropriate to ensure all projects are implemented in a timely manner, to a high quality and to agreed standards.

7.To assess risk for key tasks in each work-stream and estimate, in negotiation with managers, the likelihood and impact of the risk.

8.To be responsible for Project Budget and Project Change Control and Business Contingency planning for all projects.

Experience of IT project management with responsibility for overall project delivery and budget, Previous IT health sector experience, ideally within a community setting, Experience of business change project management.
