Job description: My client, a local authority, is currently looking for an IT Security Management Officer to work on an initial 3 month contract.

Key Skills (support role - to maintain and enhance the security and integrity of the infrastructure and systems, this includes Microsoft/WINTEL, Unix/AIX platforms)

* Active Directory ACLs
* Citrix
* Internet Information Services
* SQL Server
* Email
* Cross platform security and use of the LDAP protocol
* Firewall (Juniper/Cisco)
* Virtualisation technologies: Windows 2008 R2 / 2012 Hyper clustering
* Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016
* Active Directory 2003/2008/2012 & PKI
* IIS and reverse proxy servers
* Understanding of large complex infrastructures including LAN/WAN, SAN, virtualisation
* Good analysis and documentation skills
* Produce High Level Design documentation / work instructions
* Ability to work on run and change consecutively and manage your time accordingly

Experience/Certificates that are mandatory

* ISEB Certificate in Information Security Management Principles
* Worked in large complex environments covering multiple sites and data centres
* Liaising with 3rd party vendors to upgrade/migrate applications
* Local government experience
* Excellent knowledge of Government Connect security standards, ISO27001
* Worked with mandated controls and standards including GCSX, PSN, DPA and PCI Compliance

Knowledge/Certificates that are desirable.

* CESG Certified Professional
* SCOM 2007/2012
* Smoothwall
* McAfee products
* Network scanning

Additional requirements: - Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex issues and activities at an appropriate level for the audience. Possess the ability to work within a team environment or alone. To work within the standards and guidelines of the organisation with an understanding and appreciation of the objectives of the business and services provided ensuring that the Council can meet its legislative requirement to protect data. A capability to develop effective working relationships with both business clients and internal colleagues will be beneficial.
