Job description: I'm currently looking for a IT Service Designer to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team. The purpose of the role will be to work on short-term projects to assist services in improving outcomes for residents and reducing costs, whilst promoting user-centred, Agile approaches to colleagues across the organisation. Use design thinking, customer journey mapping and prototyping to test and iterate new ways of achieving high quality outcomes for residents and businesses. Actively contribute to the work of the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary team so that all team members, and all of the projects that they work on benefit from your core skills.

Key Responsibilities:
* Working with other members of the multidisciplinary prototyping team, assist with the specification and design of end-to-end digital services, covering, for example: user need, business objectives, scope, constraints (such as performance, resources etc.), evaluation and prioritisation of user stories and identification and mitigation of technical risks.
* Assist with investigative work to determine service opportunities, and specify effective business solutions, including improvements in information systems, data management, practices, organisation and equipment.
* Contribute to the specification of user / system interfaces and prototypes, including for example: menus, screen dialogues, inputs, reports, validation and error correction procedures, seeking to optimise accessibility and usability, consistent with functional needs ensuring that the work is consistent with the Digital Service Standard.
* Assist with the detailed specification and modelling of recommended solutions using resources, standards, methods and tools as required.
* Evaluate and undertake impact analysis on design options taking account of different levels of sophistication for different users (e.g. web based systems and business systems).
* Use business experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicability of alternatives, marrying up technical limitations with operational realities.
* Maintain up to date records of systems, services, contracts and information assets as part of the ICT service's configuration management database (CMDB).
* Apply and maintain specific procedures and security controls as required by organisational policy and local risk assessments to maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability of business information systems and infrastructure components.
* Act as routine contact point between ICT Service and relevant suppliers and attend regular operational supplier review meetings.

Experience/Qualification:
*A level in computing and/or NVQ in IT field
An understanding of current developments in the application of Information Systems and are able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists - technical or otherwise.
* Proficient in understanding and applying Iterative methods and techniques to allocate and optimise the division of functions between the human, machine and organisational elements of IT systems.
* Proficient in software tools which automate or assist part of the development process.
* Proficient in understanding and applying organised and documented sets of techniques, and proven methods, intended to facilitate the structured and open development of applications.
Proficient in the digital development techniques and methods required to deliver modern, high quality user interfaces and interactions.
