Job description: I am currently recruiting for an IT Systems Support Officer to work in Warwickshire.

This role is initially for 10 months and does fall inside IR35.

Candidates who have recent experience of Capita Academy Revenues & Benefits system would be preferred.

Key Tasks:

1. Ensure that all tasks are completed to a timetable agreed with the Systems Support Shared Services Manager, and bring to their attention any matters that affect the attainment of the timetable.

2. To cover in the absence of other team members.

3. To provide performance information in respect of all work carried out by the Division both on a daily basis in the form of system reconciliations, and at varying intervals as agreed (e.g.) weekly and monthly performance monitoring.

4. To produce information in the requested format for both grant, subsidy, government returns and freedom of information requests as well as internal statistical requirements.

5. Monitor and test the quality of output being produced from all systems within the Division and bring to the attention of the responsible operational manager where there are concerns as to the accuracy or legitimacy of data provided.

6. Undertake sample quality checks to ensure accuracy and correctness of checks undertaken by each section as directed by the Systems Support Shared Services Manager/

7. Test all new software releases in conjunction with operational managers to ensure their correctness, robustness and recommend/support any changes necessary to working practices and procedures.

8. Report any cases of suspected fraud/financial irregularity to the Systems Support Shared Services Manager

9. Ensure that all system produced management/reconciliation reports are produced, checked, monitored and acted upon where appropriate.

10. Ensure all parameters are input enabling the on-line system to produce necessary documentation in the correct format and with minimal disruption to the operation of the Division.

11. Attend user groups and internal working groups on behalf of the Division as required by the Systems Support Shared Services Manager.

12. Organise and where appropriate deliver training to staff in the use of technology within the Division. In addition, provide back up to the various sections for providing technical training on legislation as well as current practices and procedures.

13. Maintain a good working knowledge of all legislation relating to Housing, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit/Support, Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates.

14. Assist the Systems Support Shared Services Manager in implementing new initiatives and where appropriate to lead projects as appropriate to ensure best practice is adopted and recorded.

15. Responsibility for monitoring and ensuring systems procedure manuals are kept up-to-date.
