IT Transformation Programme Manager

Job description: My Client, a local authority in Hampshire, is currently looking for an IT Programme Manager for a digital transformation project, to work on a 6 month initial basis.

You will take a key role in the development on the Enabling Productivity Project Initiation Document to deliver significant efficiencies in mobile working and staff productivity .

Main Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

* Lead on and design, develop, manage and maintain the programme delivery plans supporting IT Business Relationship Managers and liaising closely with senior representatives (IT and Business) to maximise benefits from investment and ensure benefits are delivered.

* Take responsibility for delivery of any/all phases of agreed programmes of work to timescale, cost and quality required, reporting as agreed with the Deputy Head of IT, to customers, programme and project boards, IT Management team and others

* Provide expert information and advice to the Business and IT teams about programme and deliverables ensuring suitability and potential to meet business requirements

* Develop / QA of all required Programme documentation

* Problem-solve and respond to escalations, taking decisions on remedial actions to address programme delivery issues.

* For new or modified services, ensure programme deliverables are successfully migrated to business as usual service arrangements and handed over to appropriate service/operational manager.

* Create programme resource plan and facilitate fulfilling this with the appropriate colleagues

* Monitor and control programme funding, income and budgets.

Essential skills & experience

* Considerable IT project management skills and experience and experience in Programme management or a desire to move into programme management

* Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

* Proven ability to identify, assess and manage risks and mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery of targeted outcomes.

* Proven communication & interpersonal skills with stakeholders at all levels

* Ability to shape complex and ambiguous information into succinct business documents

* Financial awareness and budgetary management skills

* Experience of resource complex projects or programmes

Desirable skills & experience

* Experience and understanding of working in the public sector.

* Experience of Digital Transformation

* Experience of Mobile working implementations

* Experience of leading staff

* Negotiating and influencing skills.

* Ability to pick work up quickly
