LCS Systems Support Officer - Somerset

Job description: My Client, a local authority, are looking for an LCS Systems Support Officer to work for them on an initial 6 month contract in Somerset.

Successful candidates will be joining the IT team to help cover a gap due to long term sickness. Candidates must have experience supporting Liquid Logic (LCS), Early Help Module (EHM) version 2, and Forms building.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

1. Develop an understanding of Children's Services business particularly Children's
Social Care and get set to support users of the case management systems, LCS, EHM and Homefinders.
2. Manage the Assist call logging system on a daily basis and uses initiative to prioritise tasks. Log and monitor calls with IT suppliers and report progress to the
Practice Support and Systems Development (PSSD) Team Manager.
3. Proactively offer first line support to LCS, EHM and Homefinders users. Deal with
and problem solve specific calls raised with the PSSD team from front line staff
and managers to point of resolution. Advise users on how to use the system and
decide whether an issue needs to be assigned to the supplier for resolution.
4. Use system administration tools in LCS, EHM and Homefinders. Investigate and resolve system recording issues raised by users.
5. Specify, develop and clarify Children's Services business processes in consultation with various practitioners and managers. This may require individual meetings or workshops, sometimes including suppliers. Uses the corporate
software to produce business process models to corporate standards. On occasion this
will bring system development opportunities for suppliers and the postholder may be required to provide consultative advice on a partnership basis.
6. Contribute to the development of systems, particularly LCS and EHM, in terms of efficiency and usability through active participation in discussions about service
development.
7. Undertake work packages from project teams / Project Managers. Join Children's
Services project teams and lead in areas such as testing and business process
mapping.
8. Design and deliver training to individuals or small groups of front line staff.
Coach and mentor staff in the use of LCS and EHM.
9. Using the system development software, build, test and implement new forms, customer defined workflow and system configuration, as required by Children's Services.
10. Write system guidance for frontline workers, managers and administrators which
will be held within ToolKit, the online repository of system guidance. Monitor existing guidance, make a judgement when updates are required and write and
issue amended guidance.
11. Attend local LCS and EHM user groups to provide advice and guidance about which issues need to be escalated to the PSSD Team Manager. Make suggestions and recommendations for improvements. Ensure any issues are recorded accurately in spread
-sheets for work allocation and/or escalation.
12. Work from local bases to promote the profile of the PSSD team and LCS and EHM systems. Build relationships and routes for communication about system issues/development ideas, troubleshoot problems and identify underlying issues affecting the successful use of systems.
