Job description: An exciting new opportunity has just become available for a Learning Disability Support Worker to join a new private supported living service based in Chelmsford on a permanent basis!

Salary per annum: £17,550

Hours and length of contract:
*Full time Permanent position: 37.5 hours per week
*A flexible shift pattern as part of a 7 day rota
oEarlies: 08:00 - 15:00
oLates: 14:00 - 22:00

*The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP

Daily Duties:
You will be working within a newly opening supported living service for 7 adults with learning and physical difficulties and you will provide both support and personal care to these individuals in order to help meet their individual needs and promote overall independence.

The role will include settling the service users into their home, as well as creating holistic support plans and supporting those with complex needs.

Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
*Assisting with personal care and needs in line with their care plan
*Providing practical support with essential daily living tasks
*Encouraging independence and emotional wellbeing
*Recognising changes in customer behaviours and any potential safeguarding issues
*Ensure customers are supported in a safe and caring environment
*Undertaking risk assessments and administration and recording of medication in line with care plans
*Empowering customers to maintain and establish positive relationships in the wider community
*Work with colleagues to maintain accurate customer records
*Work closely and cooperatively with external agencies and family members to offer care and support and develop and/or maintain independence
*De-escalate challenging behaviours in a way that respects customers whilst showing respect and limiting any impact on other customers or colleagues

Person specification:
The applicant must be DBS cleared for the position advertised and have recent experience within the field.
