Job description: Leasehold Officer, Coventry
A large, Midlands based Housing Association are looking to recruit a Leasehold Officer to work in Service Charge and Ground Rent Arrears Recovery in their Coventry Office, on an initial 3 month contract.

The Role
The team this role is based within

-Manage allocated cases to recover debt and progress recovery action in line with our arrears procedure and agreed targets.
-Report to Team Leader; day to day work allocation to be guided by nominated Leasehold Officer.
-Contact customers with arrears by telephone and other means to recover debts by immediate payment or satisfactory arrangement.
-Receive card payments and set up direct debits using our third party (CallPay and AllPay) payment system.
-Contact mortgage lenders where appropriate to recover arrears.
-Implement the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims with a view to Small Claim Track actions for Money Judgement Orders where necessary.
-Support the preparation of Small Claims Track actions.
-Signpost customers for benefit advice and/or debt advice where appropriate.
-Maintain records of actions taken and future actions required using our MIS Active H Rent Accounting system and Outlook.

The Candidate
To be successful within this position, it is essential that you have
experience of debt recovery, ideally from residential leaseholders. You will also need the communication skills and confidence to deal effectively with a diverse customer base. Competence in working with computerised account records is required, and any prior experience with CallPay, AllPay and MIS Active H Rent Accounting system will be beneficial. To make an impact in the time available, you will benefit from being quick to learn, self-starting and able to slot seamlessly into a team environment.

The Contract
This role is full time, working 37 hours per week and initially, the contract will run until the end of March, though could be extended.
