Job description: Leaving Care Personal Advisors - Worcestershire County Council

We are urgently looking for Leaving Care Personal Advisors to join Worcestershire County Council at County Hall, Worcester.

We have a clear Improvement Plan and are making strides in delivering the objectives of the Care Leavers Strategy. Our focus is building effective relationships with young people with an aim to support them on the road to adulthood.

*Experience of working with young people and their families in a social care, educational or voluntary setting.
*Understanding of dimensions and young people's needs and factors that impact on young people's well being.
*Good working knowledge of the range of issues that care leavers might expect to face as they make their transition to adulthood.
*Understanding of the additional vulnerabilities and needs of young people with disabilities and who are asylum seekers.
*Knowledge of how to promote safeguarding for young people.
*Understanding of the specific role and responsibilities of individual Children's Services agencies.
*Knowledge of local arrangements and services to provide health, housing and accommodation, careers and training and financial support.

* Initially a 3 - 6 month contract

Pay rates up to £16.00 ltd per hour!
