Job description: A Gloucestershire based council are recruiting for a Lettings Officer based in Bristol. This role will require the individual to co-ordinate and operate the Choice Based Lettings Scheme, fulfilling nomination agreements and ensuring applicants and partner landlords receive an efficient, transparent and effective service.
The Role
Your key duties within the role will include the following:
*Operate a single access point for short term supported accommodation and housing related floating support, to co-ordinate vacancies and identify, assess and prioritise suitable tenants, and make formal offers. This includes:
oTo access temporary accommodation where the Council has a duty;
oTo facilitate move-on;
oTo allocate to private sector properties available for homelessness prevention and end of duty, and
oaccess to short term supported housing.

*Promote good relations with private sector landlords and lettings agencies encouraging them to participate in Council schemes providing access to accommodation for households in housing need.
*Work closely with statutory and voluntary agencies and the Council's contracted Floating Support services to ensure that support is in place for households who require it.
*Produce accurate and up-to-date management information and performance data relating to the lettings service.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you must have experience of working in housing remedies, and good experience of delivering housing access and homelessness services to vulnerable people and minority groups. Some knowledge of relevant legislation including Housing Act 1996 Part VII, statutory guidance on suitability of accommodation, and of working within rehousing policies.

The Contract
This is a temporary contact starting 10th April 2019 to 29th July 2019, working 37 hours per week.
