Job description: A Local Authority based in Nottinghamshire is looking for a Trades/Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency contract and the successful candidate will have a relevant background in a Trade Discipline, experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams, experience in a similar Supervisory/Management role and ideally experience working within a local authority setting.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that day-to-day repairs and planned maintenance to Council owned properties are efficiently and effectively carried out, taking a lead role in the supervision of directly employed operatives and external sub-contractors.

Additional responsibilities will include;

Carry out site visits, surveys and inspections.
Supervise and manage directly employed operatives and sub-contractors.
Monitor the performance of internal operatives and contractors dealing with responsive and planned maintenance to ensure compliance with completion targets, quality health and safety and productivity.
Management duties will include personal development reviews, absence management and any disciplinary and capability issues.
Monitor effectively budgets, commitments and expenditure.
Generate contract and specification documentation taking a lead role in the supervision and monitoring of partnering contracts ensuring compliance with H&S and budgets.
Post-inspect completed works and check works in progress to ensure all work is carried out to the required quality.
Undertake tenant consultation exercises and satisfaction surveys.
Scrutinise completed job tickets/invoices for accuracy and value for money and to deal with any irregularities prior to authorising payment.
Investigate and deal with day-to-day internal and external customer queries and complaints.
Undertake surveys, when required relating to the stock condition and programmed work.

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering £18 p/hr - £20 p/hr Umbrella Ltd (approx. £470 - £520 p/week after deductions) for the duration of the role.
