Job description: Job title: Management Accountant
Location: Exeter - will be home working initially
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: 6 months temporary
Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday, 09:00am - 05:00pm

To provide a full management accounting service to support the achievement of effective financial control and improve current and future financial performance. To undertake analysis and costing evaluation of systems and processes.

Job Purpose

*Ensure the best use is made of specialist applications, the finance system and spreadsheets to deliver an efficient and effective service to internal and external customers.
*Ensure all reconciliations and related financial controls are completed in a timely manner; review and authorise those prepared by team members.
*In conjunction with budget holders contribute to the budget setting cycle to assist them in identifying and achieving value for money and efficiency savings.
*Work with managers to develop reporting and performance indicators to monitor performance and make improvements. Analyse and investigate variances from budget producing reports to assist management control.
*Develop financial models to assist in evaluating business decisions/processes.
*Provide support on projects to deliver continuous improvement in the delivery of financial and management accounting.
*Be aware of and follow policies and procedures, with particular attention to standards of customer service, health and safety, and equality and diversity.

Candidate Profile

*Fully or Part Qualified CCAB/CIMA Member
*Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
*Proven experience of preparing management accounts.
*Experience of reviewing and analysing financial information and reporting on results.
*Excellent oral and written communications.
*Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

*Experience in reconciliations.
*Experience of using finance systems.
*Relevant experience within the social housing sector.
