Job description: My client, a Housing Association based in Essex is looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join their team. This is a full time, permanent opportunity and the success candidate must have a full professional engineering qualification, have experience in a similar role and ideally strong experience in a housing background.

The main purpose of the role is to join the busy M&E team within the property services department to achieve key maintenance and repairs to the client's property portfolio.

The main duties of this role are as follows;

Responsibility for managing contractor installations
Maintenance and repairs of all aspects of M&E systems
Carrying out site visits and pre and post-inspections
Ensuring high quality of contractors work
Compliance to required regulations, certification, timescales and financial integrity
Providing technical design, advice and guidance to staff and contractors
Evaluate mechanical, electrical and compliancy work quantities, quality of work, correct SOR, ensuring it represents best value for money and complies with contract costs.
Work under the guidance of the Contract & Compliance Officer for M&E to check invoices and processing payments are accurate
Check that certificates and relevant documentation are completed correctly, to regulations and within required timescales to ensure we remain compliant, that KPIs targets are achieved and can be evidenced correctly.
Complete data input to provide quality, quantity and resident satisfaction, data records and audits with supporting evidence
Raise works orders on IT systems. Create Excel spreadsheets, input and export data to our asset management software and other systems.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following;

Strong practical knowledge of mechanical building systems
Working experience of plumbing and water hygiene services
Further understanding and experience in electrical services would also be an advantage
A good knowledge of basic UK health and safety legislation, along with good communication and IT skills with a sound understanding of databases

The successful candidate will need a full clean UK licence and access to their own vehicle and will be given a free parking permit for the car park upon successful start. The client is looking to appoint someone quickly to this role and is offering an annual salary of £36,686 in addition to a car allowance and numerous additional benefits.
