Job description: My client based in Central London has a new position available for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This is a full time, temporary position and the successful candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and will hold a relevant professional qualification.

The main Purpose of this role is to prepare design specifications and options appraisals.

Allocated tasks may include the following.

*Undertake inspections of mechanical engineering projects to specification, quality control and compliance with mandatory requirements.

*Provide mechanical consultancy advice.

*Prepare design specifications and options appraisals.

*Negotiate contracts for mechanical engineering projects

*Oversee the preparation of specifications and prepare work schemes. Undertake project co-ordination and monitor progress.


Candidate Profile

To have:

*HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent or be working toward this qualification or have extensive appropriate experience.

*Sound background in contract administration of major mechanical engineering replacement and refurbishment schemes.

*Completed Asbestos Awareness and Working at Height training courses.

*Experience in the management of capital, Mechanical, Building Services Projects in the public or commercial sectors.

*Commercial experience of negotiating and procuring contracts.

*Experience of preparing specifications and tender documents.

*Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to fulfill the duties of the role.

The successful candidate will:

*Be able to work effectively and reliably as part of a team
*Have good communication skills with a range of people inside and outside the organisation.
*Have good IT skills including word processing, spreadsheets preferably Microsoft Office, email, use of the intranet and internet
*Be able to plan tasks and meet deadlines/targets.
*Be able to pacify aggressive or difficult customers and respond in a positive, tactful and professional manner.
