Location: Chertsey, Surrey
Hours: Full Time: 37.5 hours per week, 9-5 Monday-Friday
Pay: £18ph LTD

Maintenance Technician - Chertsey, Surrey - Facilities Services

We are looking for a well organised and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the facilities team to assist in the provision of a general building, grounds and gardens maintenance service. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the Trust's assets as assigned by the Maintenance Works Officers. They will also undertake minor installation work according to their skills and training. The successful candidate will support the wider Estates team by providing multi skilled trade tasks for minor works including electrical, mechanical and building.


You'll:
*Carry out a range of general maintenance, plumbing and mechanical repairs and installations across a wide range of properties as part of the directly employed building maintenance team. Repair a variety of equipment.
*Maintain complex steam works such as calorifier refurbishment or installing a condensate recovery system.
*To undertake new installation work, maintenance and repairs of mechanical or Electrical plant and services, including testing and routine fault location as instructed.
*Must have a sound knowledge of building management systems (Jell or Trend)
*Carry out planned and reactive maintenance according to requirements and needs of the Department
*Be a key member of the estates team carrying out a variety of general maintenance tasks works on the grounds and gardens
*Keep all plant rooms and Mechanical and Electrical workshop clean and tidy
*Assist Technicians with day to day task
*Work 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday

We're looking for:
*Knowledge of Allied Trades
*Minimum of 4years experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
*Previous experience of working in an acute healthcare setting
*Good all round base knowledge of building services and general building maintenance
*Ability to work using own initiative
*Awareness of Health and Safety legislation
*A team player


You will need a good understanding on the following skills.
*LTHW systems and controls
*HWS systems and controls
*Steam raising plant
*Pressurised systems
*Water Treatment plant
*Alarm Systems (Building management control)
*Medical gas plant and systems.
*Electronic circuitry
*Sterilizer plant.
*Washer disinfectors
*LV distribution systems and generation plant.
*Building maintenance system (Jell or Trend).
*PAT testing
*Compressed air systems
*Refrigeration system
*Welding, turning and milling techniques.
