Job description: Mental Health Support Worker - Ealing Council
Service Care Solutions are looking for a mental health support worker to join the team at Ealing Council. The successful post holder will be part of a team working towards providing a safe, welcoming and secure environment for Mental Health Service users, supporting them to achieve an independent lifestyle if possible to move onto a more suitable next stage accommodation. This is a locum role.

PAY - £13.69 (may be negotiable)
CONTRACT - 3 months
HOURS - full time (35 per week)

WHAT YOU NEED
*Satisfactory enhanced dbs check
*NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
*Knowledge and ability to support service users with mental health issues and diverse needs (including alcohol/drug misuse) in maintaining as near an independent lifestyle as possible
*Experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health difficulties
*The ability and skills to work with Mental Health Service users presenting with challenging behaviour (i.e. risk of self-harm and aggression) whilst recognising their rights
*The ability to communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and written
*The ability to develop the knowledge and understanding of the nature and treatment of mental illness
*Computer literate
*Ability to work unsupervised as well as undertaking delegated tasks
*Ability to maintain and contribute to a safe working environment
*Ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through the medium of english
*Ability to take part and contribute to groups and meetings i.e service user meetings, care planning groups etc.
