Job description: CONSISTENT WORK AVAILABLE FOR A SUPPORT WORKER IN BURY ST EDMUNDS, SUFFOLK!
Service Care Solutions have a fantastic new opportunity for a Band 2 Mental Health Support Worker to join a specialist older adult's mental health ward within the NHS.

Temporary pay rate:
*Days £11ph ltd
*Nights & Saturdays: £14ph ltd
*Sundays & Bank Holiday: £17ph ltd
Hours and length of contract:
*Full or Part Time Shifts
*Monday to Fridays only (maybe some weekends)
oEarly 07:30 - 15:00
oLate 13:30 - 21:30
oLong Day: 07:30 -21:30
*Initial 4 weeks contract length (likelihood of extension!)
*The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP.
Daily Duties:
You will work as part of a 17 bedded assessment and treatment inpatient ward for older adults with mental health issues and who may also have an additional physical health complexity.
The ward is split into two units one for functional mental health and the other for organic (dementia) and you will support the service users to return to wellbeing and independence.

There is a primary focus on collaborative working placing a great emphasis on the recovery model and the Butterfly Model which is reflected within the assessment tools and underpins patient centred care.

Duties include but are not limited to:
*Caring for service users physical, psychological, social, spiritual, cultural and recreational needs
*Observing, reporting and recording any changes, which may indicate an alteration in the individual's wellbeing
*Routine observations when required
*Communicating with patients, relatives and carers
IT skills are also essential as you will be expected to maintain patient records.

There is a handover of care between each shift to ensure care packages are maintained and each patient's presentation, risk, daily activity, progress and needs are shared with the whole team.
Morning meetings occur each week day at 09:00hrs with the multi disciplinary team to discuss each patients care.

Person specification:
The applicant must be DBS cleared and have previous experience in the field.
