Job description: Hello! Service Care are recruiting for a Mental Health Support Worker to work a full time contract, at a low/medium secure forensic ward in Wigan. The contract is available ASAP, and consists of 8-8 shifts Monday to Sunday with flexibility around days and nights. The contracts end date is not specified as they are looking for someone committed and happy to work past a specific end date, however it is likely to be extended depending on good performance.

Your role is to offer support to those affected by mental health problems, and those who have a history with repetitive offensive behaviour. General tasks may involve: observations, assisting with leisure activities and communication, assisting the nurses with the support of the patients.

Essential skills consist of good people skills, and previous experience working with people who suffer from mental health problems. You as an employee must be flexible and committed to the role, with an engaging and respectful manner. Ideally applicants will have experience working in either private or NHS funded sectors, with some experience of forensic mental health, however this is not vital and we still welcome your application.
