Job description: An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Manager (Mental Health) to join a Private Supported Living based in East Ham, London.

Temporary pay rate: £18ph ltd

Hours and length of contract:
*Initially part time 2-3 days per week with agency (trial period)
*Between the hours of Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00
*Potential to then increase to full time and for a permanent role to be offered

Daily Duties:
The client provides accommodation for males and females between the ages of 18-65 with high, medium and low-level mental health needs with the overall aim of helping these individuals maintain a stable mental state and prevent frequent hospital admissions. They support these service users to maximise necessary skills for independent living in the community.

As the manager for the supported living service, you will play an active role in developing and implementing the organisations plans for the scheme as well as in achieving the high quality performance of the service to meet customer expectations.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:
*Manage and effectively lead the staff team by creating and maintaining a workforce who embrace our workplace values, including thorough induction, probation, regular supervision, appraisal, competence checks and where required, performance manage staff
*Identify customer needs and meet their expectations in a timely manner
*Take ownership of customer problems and work with others to solve these
*Deal with day to day problems as they occur and choose the appropriate course of action
*Undertake activities that monitor and review the service regularly to ensure that the services being provided are effective.
*Ensure that all records and required documentation including care and support plans and regular checks are kept up to date and accurately recorded, maintained and reviewed
*Initiate and support changes as required
*Allocate tasks and responsibilities clearly, monitoring workloads and performance on a regular basis
*Keep accurate financial records
*Build positive relationships with others inside and outside the organisation to improve knowledge, share information; benchmark against others and to ensure adoption of effective business practices

The service provides a warm and homely environment and is based in the quiet and safe residential areas of Newham, close to the town centre. Situated so that clients are able to take full advantage of the many social, educational and cultural opportunities available to them.

Person specification:
Applicant must be DBS cleared for the position advertised, and have recent experience within the field and of working in crises. You will have the ability to deal with challenging behaviour and be able to turn informal support plans into practical action under little supervision.
