Job description: Job Spec - Finance Manager/Financial Accountant
Location - Essex
Hours - 37.5 Hours per Week 9-5
Salary - £32.94 PH LTD
Type - Temporary
Start - ASAP

An opportunity has arisen within the Financial Management team for a Finance Manager/Financial Accountant supporting within an NHS service in Essex. You will take lead responsibility in co-ordinating the Trust's financial control processes for the Trust; providing a professional financial accounting service to the Trust in compliance with accounting rules and good practice guidelines.
The post holder will be a fully qualified accountant with a CCAB or CIMA qualification and possess significant knowledge and experience of strategic financial management. The post holder is responsible for maintaining this registration throughout the contract of employment.
The post holder will manage the Trust's Financial accounting team.

The Role

* Prepare monthly financial accounting information for senior management

*Undertake detailed variance analysis of highly complex financial information against plan, and liaise with the Deputy Head of Financial Accounting over any issues of a confidential/ contentious nature

*Lead responsibility for identifying financial variances against plan, and ensuring the outcome of these discussions is reflected within the Trusts financial plans and forecasts

*Prepare forecast financial information on a regular basis, on the basis of both financial and service knowledge

*Responsible for the provision of information to support the production of monthly/quarterly financial return to NHSI (independent regulator of Foundation Trust's) for all financial accounting matters

*Undertake in-depth analysis of complex financial positions and exercise judgement against a range of options for further action, taking into account the constant changes taking place within the wider NHS environment
