Job description: Job Title - Medical Secretary
Location - Widnes
Hours - 37.5 Hours per Week 9-5
Salary - £11.50 LTD
Contract - 3 Months Ongoing.

An opportunity has arisen for a well organised and motivated individual to support medical team, in an NHS service in Widnes. You will be required to support in managing Psychiatrist's diary, and prioritising commitments. You will also be undertaking word processing of all documents to a high standard, in an agreed Trust style and using an appropriate referencing system. Also, Updating and maintaining administrative system as required. In addition, you will be writing letters, coordinating medics, writing up tribunal reports and discharge letters. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational and time keeping skills, and will be comfortable working both as part of a team, and also working individually.

The successful candidate needs to be able to hit the ground running, with previous NHS experience desirable. Flexible, able to adapt to change, calm nature, use own initiative, good communication skills, attention to detail. Understanding of Mental Issues would be advantageous, as well as experience of dealing with vulnerable service users. The role of a medical secretary has many individual duties, which will include:
*To provide an accurate, prompt and efficient secretarial/administrative support to the team
*To maintain diaries for the management team and organise meetings including the booking of venues
*To maintain an effective filing system allowing easy document retrieval.
*Audio Typing
*Copy Typing
*Diary management
*Organise meetings
*Minute Taking in Meetings
*Report/letter writing
*To ensure agendas and papers are distributed to delegates within required timeframes for meetings
*To produce and maintain spreadsheets
*Other general ad hoc administrative duties
Person Specification:
*RSA 3 Word Processing Qualification
*Accurate diary management
*Confident phone manner
*Previous Secretarial experience
*Extensive Microsoft Office experience
*Excellent time keeping skills
*Excellent organisational skills
*Intermediate skills of data inputting and audio typing
