Job description: Our NHS client are currently seeking an experience Operating Department practitioner to join their Recovery / Anesthetic teams within a Hospital in central Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a varied but interesting team that specialises in various disciplines. You will be able to join one of the following teams - working long term full time hours or flexible Adhoc work:

- Anesthetics
- Orthopedics
- Emergency Theatre
- Theatre Obsteterics Gynaecology
- Neurology
- Recovery
- Thermology
- Head & Neck
- General

You will be applying for a role within an award winning hospital and community services NHS trust, providing high quality, personalised healthcare for patients.
Their expert, committed staff provide a full range of emergency, planned and specialist care including high dependency and intensive care, cancer care, day case surgery, stroke and rehabilitation, maternity and paediatrics, older people's and community services for a population of over 200,000 people from a widespread area covering South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

Full time hours are available within this team on a flexible and long term basis.

You must be a HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner with a minimum of six- months' NHS experience.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
*To be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide high quality care to patients and support to relatives
*To work with all members of the multi-disciplinary theatre team and contribute to the safe effective running of the operating department
*To assemble, check and prepare all appropriate anaesthetic equipment, drugs and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures, incorporating various types of anaesthesia
*To administer drugs and fluids when required to do so in line with Trust policy
*To complete all documentation in a timely manner and to an acceptable level
*To ensure that the environment you work in is conducive to continuing prevention and control of infection for all staff, patients and visitors
