Oracle R12 EBS Applications Consultant

Job description: My Client, a local authority in Cheshire, is currently looking for an Oracle R12 EBS Applications Consultant to work on a 3 month initial contract basis.

This role is for their essential Oracle e-business suite programme primarily focused on technical and functional delivery and support in Release 12.1.3.


* Design, build and implement solutions to meet clients' requirements.

* Maintain, review and monitor technical work package(s) or functional configuration on a day to day basis within the constraints defined by the Programme and Project Boards, and ensure that appropriate controls and corrective actions are in place for the delivery of work packages and configuration within the parameters of agreed time, quality standards, cost, financial savings and benefits.

* Fully document developed solutions according to Cheshire East Council ICT methodology (Quality management system) and client requirements.

* Support functional/technical teams and client through testing, 'go-live', continued support and maintenance.

* Provide project/programme/support managers with appropriate information to ensure that requirements are developed and/or supported efficiently and effectively.

Essential Skills

* Strong demonstrable experience across Oracle e-business Suite Applications Release 12.1.3 with detailed knowledge of the relevant application suite
* Experience of ensuring that solutions are implemented according to correct standards and are properly transitioned into support.
* Experience of supporting and maintaining solutions within Oracle e-business Suite.
* Detailed knowledge of SQL & PL/SQL.
* Evidence of adhering to documentation standards and Oracle Methodologies e.g. (BR100, MD050).
* Experience of working in a local government environment.
* Experience of multi company set up within a Shared Services implementation
* Experience working with teams of functional and technical staff specializing in HR/Payroll, Taleo, Financials, Projects, Procurement.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Desirable skills

* Technical skills: PL/SQL, Workflow, Oracle Discoverer, XML, Java Script, OA framework
* Functional skills: extensive experience in either HCM modules including payroll, OPM, Taleo or the Financials, Project, Procurement arenas with understanding of the other modules and their integration.
* Core configuration including set up of business groups, flexfields etc.
* Experience of integrating solutions into Oracle eBusiness Suite.
* Automation tools for testing and configuration migration/documentation
* Data migration of HR and procurement data
* Experience in configuring security set up in various modules
* Web ADI
* Auditing process and configuration
* Prototyping experience


* Experience in implementing, maintaining and supporting Oracle E business suite in a technical and/or functional capacity. Excellent knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Workflow and usage of development tools such as Oracle Forms/Reports is required in the Oracle Applications context.
* Developing, supporting, maintaining Oracle Release 12 preferably R12.1.3.
* Should be well versed in the usage of Forms personalization and custom.pll.
* Excellent knowledge of Oracle Application Object library and application database structure.
* Should be well versed with Oracle Application coding standards.
* Oracle Applications technical with working functional knowledge will be required in a number of the following modules - AP, AR, GL, Cash Management, PA, PO, iPROC, i-expenses, Payroll, employee and manager self-service, OM, INV, OLM, OPM, Taleo
