Physiotherapist Specialist - Newcastle

Job description: Service Care Health are currently seeking Specialist Physiotherapists available to work within NHS hospitals and communities around Newcastle.
You will be applying for full time role within a modern, progressive Trust, with a reputation for clinical excellence and efficiency. When working with a variety of patients with mental health conditions, learning disabilities and neurological conditions your daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

*To consider Carer needs and ensure Carer and family are involved in Care Planning where appropriate.

*To deliver specialised evidenced based Physiotherapy interventions.

*The post holder will work as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.

*Coordinate treatment planning & interventions, reviews and discharge planning

*Provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by Clinical Team Lead

*To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

*To incorporate a client centred philosophy into clinical practice and client-centred collaborative care

To be considered for this role you must have:

*A minimum of 2 years prior Physiotherapy experience with evidence of neurology experience.
*Specialist knowledge of different clinical presentations of acquired brain injury/neurological conditions and their impact on function and normal movement treatment methods.
*Highly developed physiotherapy skills demonstrating specialist levels of therapeutic moving and handling techniques, fine dexterity and coordination.

*Experience in developing and providing client-centred, goal-orientated and graded rehabilitation programmes and interventions to meet the specific needs of the service user with supervision from a senior therapist

*Specialist knowledge re: effect of cognition, behavioural and perceptual problems on neurological patients

*Specialist communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate with patients with complex communication needs considering a variety of strategies.

*Skills in the area of respiratory physiotherapy which will include participation in the respiratory on call rota

*Hold a full UK driver's license and vehicle

It is also expected that the post holder will demonstrate competent clinical practice and continue to further develop clinical knowledge and skills with relevant training and clinical supervision.
