Job description: A London based Borough Council are looking to recruit a Private Sector Enforcement and Regulation Team Manager, with main role to oversee and coordinate the delivery of a viable and responsive private sector housing service as part of the Private Sector Housing Team. To work in accordance with the current private sector housing strategy and the policy and procedures of the Service.

Job role
-Overseeing and coordinating the delivery of Key work programmes to ensure that private sector homes are safe, secure and healthy for their residents and that accommodation is to a decent standard by providing assistance and enforcing sanctions
Main Duties
-To provide leadership, direction and management of the Environmental Health team.
-Taking relevant action to ensure the highest standards of service delivery are maintained and that performance targets and quality standards are met in accordance with the required legislative guidelines and best practice approaches
-To represent the Council under relevant Environmental Health and other legislation, to prevent infringements, including the drawing up and service of Statutory Notices and other actions which may have a profound
-Deal with complex cases personally, where it is necessary to ensure that sensitive or contentious cases are correctly dealt with and these have been escalated by EHOs.
-Deputise for Head of Private Sector Housing, including the attendance at meetings, allocation of work and monitoring of defined targets as required.
-Provide cover arrangements in the absence of other Team Leaders
-As a member of the management team contribute to the overall management and the learning and development of the private sector teams.
-To assist in monitoring quality in service delivery of all stakeholders, via customer feedback, identify and communicate performance success and areas for development, make recommendations for improvement and support performance improvement planning as appropriate.

The Candidate
Must be a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer.
To be considered for this role the individual must have experience of successfully leading, managing, supervising, co-ordinating and planning the work of staff groups responsible for a wide range of tasks in a complex multidisciplinary organisation.
The Contract
This is 35 hour per week contract, Monday - Friday, on a temporary basis running from the 29/04 for three months
