Job description: Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Procurement Officer to work for a force based in Penrith.

The main responsibility will be to provide a comprehensive range of administrative support within the procurement department.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in the development and implementation of the Constabulary's Contract Register. Maintaining the register on an ongoing basis in order to meet organisational requirements.
-Assist with the preparation and issue of purchase orders from requisitions using the appropriate procurement route and taking advantage of e-procurement opportunities.
-Procure non-catalogue items under pre-existing contracts, by identifying the correct specification of the item and obtaining value for money. Based on specifications, source and procure low value non-catalogue items.
-Use computerised systems to develop and improve office practices and retrieval of information.

Essential Criteria:
-Evidence of ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing both within the Constabulary and externally.
-Experience of working in a Purchasing environment.
-Evidence of ability to use IT effectively.
-Good analytical skills.

It would be advantageous to to have knowledge of Oracle E-business suite and to be able to demonstrate the ability to understand and interpret legislation.

Please note, as this is a role with the Police, the successful candidate will be subject to vetting, therefore will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
