Job description: A local authority based in North London is looking for a Programme Manager to join their Traffic and Parking team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have experience with Parking/Traffic/Transport projects, hold a relevant professional qualification and ideally have experience in a local authority.

The main purpose of the role is to lead, shape and manage projects aimed at driving change in key areas of traffic, transport and parking activity.

The main responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;

To lead, shape and drive key elements of the service transformation programme.
To lead collaborations with other council departments (internal and external) on designing and delivering change across all elements of transport and traffic management.
To lead similar collaborations with other departments and service users, to deliver change across all elements of the parking and traffic service.
To promote and innovate in the use and analysis of digital and data as tools for promoting transformation within the service and in our engagements with residents - aiming for actionable insights and useable products.
To engage elected members and the Public Realm management team, in the leadership of the Service transformation programme, while providing them with regular updates and assurances about delivery.

The successful candidate will expected to demonstrate the following;

The post holder will build or use expertise in creative approaches to managing change.
They will lead strategically, through critical thinking, diagnosing challenges and coordinating actions.
They will embed the use of user centred design approaches, including experimentation, prototyping and rapid learning.
They will ensure that things get done and that practical changes happen across the Service.
They will focus on the development of change capability across the team.
They will build and maintain excellent relationships across the council at senior levels and be well networked externally, in the search for new ideas and connections

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this role and as such are offering £28 p/hr Umbrella Ltd - £30 p/hr Umbrella Ltd for the duration of the contract.
