Job description: My client, a local authority based in West London is looking for a Capitol Works Project Manager to join their team. This is a full time, temporary agency contract and the successful candidate will hold a full professional qualification, have experience in a similar Project Management role and will come from a construction background.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of improvement projects in Property Services and Compliance, including an initial contingency plan project.

The main duties associated with the role are as follows;

Manage the delivery of projects within cost, time, quality and other performance targets. Identify and manage risks that are likely to affect delivery.
Monitor programmes against requirements and maintain appropriate records.
Facilitate and manage meetings with senior internal and external stakeholders, including members and residents.
Produce detailed analytical reports for presentation to senior management, and stakeholders.
Project manage more than one complex project work streams as required by Delivery Manager.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and other management tools. Manage the development of the design and the procurement and delivery of proposals.
Manage legal and commercial agreements.
Contribute to an agenda of continuous improvement for Property Services and Compliance. Champion individual initiatives and projects.
Build, establish and maintain effective working relationships within the council and with external stakeholders.
Manage and mentor staff as and when required
Provide excellent customer service standards to internal and external stakeholders.
Manage the recruitment of project support officers and consultants as and when required.
Support Programme governance through the production and presentation of progress reports.
Undertake other projects and duties commensurate with the role to support the Delivery Manager.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experiences;

Thorough understanding of the issues related to Housing, Repairs and Maintenance, and/or contract management/clienting
Good understanding of the Grenfell disaster and its implications for Local Authorities.
Good knowledge of major professional, legislative and policy issues facing the provision of services within Property Services and Compliance
Strong orientation to achieve outcomes through working in collaboration and partnership.
A strong manager with energy and credibility, able to motivate a team to deliver consistent results and meet objectives.
