Job description: My client, a local authority based in Tyne & Wear is looking for a Repairs/Maintenance Project Manager to join their team. This is a full time, ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have a relevant professional qualification, previous experience with Void contracts and ideally experience in a similar local authority role.

The main purpose of the role is to facilitate various repairs and maintenance contracts to ensure optimum utilisation of both in-house and sub-contractor resources. Experience of dealing with Void programmes is essential.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows;

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety Legislation and company policies including discharging all duties as Principal Contractor under CDM Regulations 2015
Ability to review all information supplied to ensure Co-ordinated Project Information has been provided before committing resources.
Ensure all programmes are delivered on time, to agreed quality standards and on budget.
On-Site Performance driven management of the day-to-day operations of all new build sites - being responsible for day-to-day operational management of Site Managers and Site Operatives.
Managing and co-ordinating sub-contractors and suppliers including identifying milestone dates and producing primary material call off schedules.
Chair regular meetings with relevant stakeholders.
Recruitment of appropriate personnel, monitoring and responding to employee performance and other related issues within all appropriate HR guidance/legislation.

The client is looking for the successful candidate to have the following qualifications/experience;

HNC/D or equivalent qualification in a construction related subject
CITB Site Safety Certificate or equivalent
CSCS card
Driving Licence

Essential Experience:

Principles of Construction background with either relevant managerial work experience for at least 5 years
Health & Safety regulations, including CDM Regulations
Project Management, workload & financial planning
Managing employees
Relevant legislation
IT Literate

The client is looking to appoint quickly to this role and as such are offering £20 p/hr Umbrella Ltd for the successful candidate, however they are willing to negotiate the rate of remuneration on a case-by-case basis.
