Job description: A Local Authority based in Hertfordshire is looking for a Project Manager - Housing to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate will have a full relevant Construction/Housing qualification, extensive experience with project management from inception to completion, experience dealing with repairs & maintenance projects and ideally experience in a similar local authority role.

The main purpose of the role is to lead a number of Housing & Investment projects for the client, from inception to completion, including full contract administration and all associated works.

The main responsibilities of this position are as follows;

Contract Administration - The role will be required to carry out the full range of contract administration duties in relation to works procured under Joint Contracts Tribunal or Term Partnering Contract (JCT, TPC) and other forms of contract.
Procurement of Works - Co-ordinating and managing the procurement process using consultants and other specialists as well as in-house staff to ensure projects are procured in compliance with current regulations, Stevenage Borough Council policies and procedures.
Residents and other end users - Co-ordinating and managing all processes necessary to prepare residents and other end users for the proposed works including formal resident consultation events for both leaseholders and tenants.
Programme Planning - To validate the programme and planning of the work elements within the service providers / contractors submissions, producing their own analysis showing actual progress against the planned programme and understanding the timing of each stage. Liaising with the service provider and other partners to ensure that the project is completed on time.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;

Full degree level qualification in Construction/Housing or extensive relevant experience in a PM role undertaking Housing/Construction projects
Needs to have detailed knowledge, experience and skills to be able to lead on inception to completion, be able to think creatively to resolve design and property related problems and with the contract administration of a diverse range of construction related projects.
Have experience in housing refurbishment projects, decent homes works and requirements, HHSRS and void works and varied Asset review projects from small to medium/large size projects (up to 5 million)
Experience in managing professional and technical staff and be able to provide support, construction guidance, advice and mentoring to other members of the team
Have good procurement skills including drawings, schedules of works, specifications and a knowledge of electronic tendering processes

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering a daily rate of £300 p/day Umbrella Ltd (Approx. £920 p/week NET after deductions).
