Job description: Project Support Officer required ASAP based in Cardiff.

You will be part of a dynamic programme management team that will be changing the face of Cardiff's Transport Network. You will be responsible for supporting the Programme Team, ensuring that projects are being delivered on time, on budget and to the required standards.

Job Description

Assist the Programme Manager and Project Teams with the production and maintenance of project plans
Ensure the agreed programme/project management methods, standards and processes are maintained throughout the programme/project lifecycle
Develop and maintain the programme/project library, filing, recording and reporting systems.
Co-ordinate the production of all reports and produce programme/project summary reports.
Set up and maintain systems for recording programme/project costs
Maintain risk and issue logs and change control records
Develop and support effective communication mechanisms between the project teams
Take an active role in planning, coordinate and executing stakeholder engagement and consultation processes
Contribute to the creation of funding applications, impact assessment reports and cabinet reports
Monitoring of, and liaison with multiple specialist consultants and contractors
Responsible for collating and replying to public enquiries, complaints and/or compliments
Undertake any other administrative tasks as specified by the Programme/Project Managers

Skills Required

Essential

Knowledge and experience of working within a programme/project management environment
A high degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite and a willingness and skill to learn new programs quickly
Experience of working on projects/programmes
Ability to analyse and present information
Experience of dealing with stakeholders
Experience of, and ability to maintain and manage key project management tools, such as Risk Registers and MS Project Plans
Financial monitoring skills

Desirable

Knowledge and experience of a formal project management methodology APM and/or PRINCE II
Knowledge and experience of Transport Planning and current Transport Policy
Knowledge and experience of Welsh Government Transport Appraisal Guidance (WelTAG) processes
Graphic Design Skills
Ability to speak Welsh
