Job description: Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Project Worker for a position in the Leeds area.

This position is to support children and young people aged between 8 and 21 years in a variety of ways, both on a practical and on an emotional level, and can arrange a package of support tailored to their needs. You will join a service which supports young people who are adopted, young people at risk of CSE and other harmful behaviours, care leavers and young unaccompanied asylum seekers.

The support typically offered to young people age 16+ includes:

▪ help to deal with finances and managing a budget

▪ help to access employment and training opportunities

▪ help in applying for more suitable accommodation

▪ Opportunities to learn and develop life skills

▪ help to access activities and groups and increase social inclusion

▪ help to develop the skills necessary to build positive relationships

The support typically offered to children age under 16 includes:

▪ engaging in positive activities in the community

▪ help to develop emotional and social skills

▪ supporting children with sexually harmful behaviours

▪ support to carers/parents by offering respite care away from the home

▪ supporting carers/parents to prevent the placement from breaking down or preventing a child becoming looked after.

Responsibilities

* You will have responsibility of the as and when staff including supervision, support and guidance.

* Must be able to work under pressure and respond to change quickly to meet the needs of the service and young people.

* Must possess excellent organisational and communication skills, be enthusiastic and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people in our community.

* Develop a Floating Support Work agreement with the young person and referrer

* There will be some direct 1:1 support work with children and young people but the post is primarily co-ordinating and managing the as and when staff.

* To coordinate the weekly rotas for the Floating Support service with the as and when staff.

* Taking of referrals to the Nightstop Service as part of office duty cover

* Covering the emergency 24 hour on call service on a rota basis

* To participate in group meetings and provide on-going training as appropriate

* Be prepared to work evenings and weekends on occasions.The use of a car is desirable.
