Job description: My client, a Housing Association based in Manchester is looking for a Property Maintenance Inspector to join their team. This is a full time, temporary contract and the successful candidate will need a full UK Driving Licence and their own vehicle.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for pre and post inspections of building works, carry out technical inspections and scheduling of works.

The other duties associated with this Property Maintenance Inspector role are outlined below;

To highlight any inadequacies or non-compliance with H&S and support adherence to H & S policy and requirements.
To survey, price and draw up specifications including any pre measuring of any works to facilitate operative completion of jobs using technical knowledge and expertise.
Where necessary Inspectors have authority to directly issue instructions to operatives and contractors, for example to ensure correction of defective work or make safe dangerous works.
Support a high level of customer focus in the delivery of quality control.
To ensure Operational Managers and Repairs Managers are provided with reliable information to address areas of concern, by ensuring works are fully inspected and irregularities are highlighted and investigated accordingly.
Assist asset management in developing future capital schemes by reporting on frequent failures, updates of records on improvement works carried out by repairs teams that may impact on future capital expenditure and constantly liaise with surveyors ensuring best use of resources when capital schemes are on site.
Work closely with Operational Managers to provide job costings.
To ensure accurate records are readily available at all times.
To work with customers (internal and external), partners and other agencies to continuously improve services including attending customer focused group meetings.
To effectively deal with any queries and complaints
To assist with investigating accidents or dangerous occurrences, reporting these to appropriate Staff and assist with any claims which may arise.
Utilise any new IT developments to facilitate inspections, ordering and record keeping including raising of orders and pre or post inspections using hand held devices.
To undertake quality checks, ensuring correct materials (quality and quantity) have been used appropriately and use customer feedback to ensure the repairs service provided is of high quality and customer focused, taking appropriate action when necessary.
To carry out pre and post inspections and provide technical knowledge to a variety of employees and customers as and when required.
To participate in a rota for shift duties to ensure the repairs service is provided between hours required by customers.
To undertake any duties appropriate to the purpose of the post as required by the Organisation.

This is a full time, temporary role and there is always a possibility of a permanent role after the agency placement.
