Job description: Psychiatric Liaison, Band 6.

Vacancy working as a psychiatrist liaison in Epsom.

A CPN is needed to carry out psychosocial assessments of patients referred from a variety of sources within the General Hospital, including A&E and the wards and to work with people presenting with a range of psychosocial needs arising in the context of physical illness, as well as patients presenting following self-harm or in psychiatric crisis.

The candidate will support Primary Care in management of people presenting with mental health problems by offering assessment, nurse diagnosis and treatment options also liaising with Primary Care professionals, through regular informal and formal meetings

The candidate will make decisions regarding the patient's needs and appropriate treatment options based on an analysis of complex presenting problems and assessment of risk in multiple domains. The post holder may frequently have to make such decisions autonomously, but needs also to be able to work with team colleagues to manage more complex cases.

The role is to commence ASAP and the role is on an initial three month NHS contract.
The hours are full time, with a variety of shift patterns available, specifically including long days and nights.
The rate of pay is £25-£33 p/h.

Candidates must be a qualified RMN with a valid NMC Pin, and must have previous experience working in a community setting.

A knowledge of 'System One' computer system is helpful and an enhanced DBS check is essential.
