Job description: A Local Authority based in Merseyside is looking for a Public Health Programme Manager to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have a full relevant qualification in Health & Safety (Preferable MIOSH), evidence of CPD and extensive experience dealing with Schools/Residential/Local Authority projects.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting the integrated commissioning team for the Council and Clinical Commissioning Group to discharge statutory health protection responsibilities, including the prevention and control of infectious diseases, preparedness and response to incidents and emergencies, screening and immunisation programmes and environmental hazards which threaten health.
The post holder will work with key partners including Public Health England, NHS England, primary and secondary health and social care to improve and protect the health of residents.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

Hold an industry recognised professional health and safety qualification
Chartered membership of IOSH or actively working towards attaining Chartered Status.
Proven Project/Programme Management abilities
Ability to undertake health and safety inspections and Construction site visits
Ability to undertake Health and Safety Audits
Knowledge of School and LA projects

The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such, are offering £280 p/day Umbrella ltd (approx. £890 NET p/week after deductions) for the duration of the role.
