Job description: Service Care Solutions are looking for an Recovery Worker in the Durham area to treat patients suffering from substance misuse related difficulties. The post is initially looking for 37.5 hours p/wk for a period of at least 1 month months weeks with a potential extension.

* The candidate will work within an established substance misuse team, carrying a case load of 18-65 year old patients.
* Day to day duties will involve assessing complex needs, risk planning and management, safeguarding, and recovery planning, including treatment of clients, key working sessions and all other functions associated with intensive case management and care coordination.
* Assist in the transfer/referrals of individuals between agencies and services.
* Support individuals through detoxification programmes including making sure individuals take their medication as prescribed.
* Prepare prescriptions for controlled drugs and aid the supply and exchange of injecting equipment
* Support individuals to undertake and monitor their own health care.
* Contribute to the prevention and management of abusive and aggressive behaviour.
* Ultimately to ensure that each individual can effectively exit treatment at the earliest opportunity.

Person Specification
* The successful candidate must have previous experience of working with substance misuse clients.
* A minimum 12 months dealing with a wide range of substance misuse clients.
