Job description: A large, national charity is recruiting for a Referral Coordinator in Leeds, to take incoming phone queries and allocate service users to rooms within sheltered housing schemes.

The Role
The focus of this role is to be the initial point of contact for all BASS related enquiries. You will be responsible for processing the referrals which are received from stakeholders, such as prison, probation and court and making a decision regarding an individual's suitability and placement for service. They work cross departmental with operational staff to deliver an end to end service from point of referral to induction. This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
*To take referrals from referrers over the phone, via email and fax, or within referral institutes or other locations as directed by the management team; assess the suitability of the application within Nacro "approach to risk management" framework; use informed and defensible judgements on acceptance, declines and incomplete applications. Liaise appropriately with the Service Manager / Regional Manager on complex or high risk / support declines.
*To make timely decisions regarding the placement of service users in services working in conjunction with support colleagues and managers and in line with contractual polices.
*To maintain accurate records at all times relating to enquires, referral applications, assessment, outcome and placement of every service user.
*To record referral data accurately and highlight service users who may present a high risk to colleagues in the most efficient way.
*Ensure appropriate placements are placed in sensitive and flagged properties.
*To provide customer service of the highest quality both over the phone and in person, developing positive relationships with internal and external key stakeholders and referrers.
*To undertake referral related administrative tasks including coordinating and collating feedback narratives from services users in line with local and national policies.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience within a phone based environment, ideally within supported housing or local authority. Strong organisation skills are a necessity and due to the nature of the service users being referred, you will require an enhanced DBS before commencing the role.

The Contract
This is a temporary role on an initial 2-3-month contract, which is highly likely to be extended, and could potentially become a permanent role. The role will be office based and there are two shifts available 8-4 or 10-6.
