Referral Hub Coordinator

Job Description

One of the largest housing associations in the East Midlands is recruiting for a Referral Hub Coordinator in Charnwood to support service users in Charnwood to sustain their tenancies and reduce their risk of homelessness

The Role
The focus of this Referral Hub Coordinator is to work towards preventing homelessness in the Charnwood area, through tenancy sustainment work and this will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support service users to express their needs through the referral and assessment process
  • Offer support and advice to customers through the assessment process; signposting to external agencies where required.
  • Support service users to express themselves and make informed choices and decisions about their lives in a way that respects their dignity and rights.
  • Maintain the waiting list and keep in reglular contact with customers on the waiting list; offering telephone support whilst waiting for their keyworker to be allocated.
  • Support customers to make grant applications to charities, funding bodies and local authorities to obtain items for their home;
  • Access service user's eligibility for means and non means tested benefits; supporting them to apply for any eligible benefits.
  • Maintain an accurate record of all financial information using spreadsheets and database.
  • Assume responsibility for safeguarding adults and/or children who have needs for care and support, are experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect
  • Maintain service user records through IT systems or paper records



The Candidate
To be considered for this Referral Hub Coordinator role you will require previous experience working within a tenancy sustainment setting, ideally with those at risk of homelessness, as well as the below requirements:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good level of IT skills and literacy
  • Knowledge of the Housing Sector
  • Experience of providing support to others in a work, voluntary or personal capacity
  • A practical solution focussed approach to problem solving


Due to the vulnerable nature of the service users, you will require an enhanced DBS for this role..

The Contract
This is a full time Referral Hub Coordinator role, working 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday. This is initially an 8 week contract, covering the recruitment for a permanent vacancy, so there is a strong chance of the contract becoming permanent.
