Job description: The role sits within the Referral Hub at our Leeds office. The Referral Hub is the initial point of contact for all BASS related enquiries. They are responsible for processing the referrals which are received from stakeholders, such as prison, probation and court and making a decision regarding an individual's suitability and placement for service. They work cross departmental with operational staff to deliver an end to end service from point of referral to induction.

Essential
Experience of achieving and evidencing outcomes against performance targets.

Experience of collating, recording and maintaining information accurately.

Experience of providing a service as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Experience of using IT information systems.

Main skills and abilities
Ability to remain resilient and adaptable in a fast paced, evolving and challenging work environment and manage conflicting priorities effectively.

Ability to understand, interpret and effectively relay information relating to previous convictions, Pre-sentence reports and levels of risk.

Excellent organisational skills.

Ability to manage your own time and workload effectively.

Ability to work alongside other Nacro colleagues to promote the service to a range of agencies and individuals including, probation, courts, prisons and other relevant agencies.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in the workplace.

Skilled in developing professional relationships with vulnerable and challenging participants and developing positive working relationships with referral agencies and partner organisations.

Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, handling enquiries in a tactful and helpful manner.

Ability to follow standardised work processes systematically and accurately.

Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner, working within strict deadlines.

Ability to work as part of a team but comfortable with prioritising own workload and raising issues regarding competing priorities with line manager.

Flexible approach to duties with a strong focus on customer service.

Empathetic approach to service users.

Ability to remain calm and neutral whilst gathering sensitive and potentially distressing information about service user's circumstances.

To develop an understanding and knowledge of the organisation and the variety of services provided.

Adhere to Nacro's Safeguarding Adults and Children processes and make defensible judgements on Safeguarding referrals.

To undertake any other duties as directed by the line manager that may reasonably
fall within the scope of the post.

A personal commitment to equality and inclusion

Essential knowledge and qualification
Qualified to at least Level 2 in Literacy and numeracy and with good knowledge of use of ICT in learning and of the use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Empathy with the aims and objectives of Nacro.

A sound understanding of safeguarding procedures.
Desirable
Experience of working within the support or care setting and or with vulnerable people with a range of support needs.

Experience of assessing risk or proven ability to demonstrate an understanding of the principles or risk assessment and management within the care setting.

A driving licence, access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel, if required.
